The class will be teaching you new and powerful street photography techniques guaranteed to push you from your comfort zone to new heights in your work and share his street-shooting philosophies gleaned from a lifetime of wandering urban places with his camera.
This 3-Day Intensive workshop begins with a meet, greet and lecture followed by a visit to Fotografiska, New York City's newest museum of photography. We will tour the museum and have our welcome dinner at their new restaurant Veronika, by famed James Beard-award winning restauranteur Stephen Starr. This luxurious cafe is modeled after the grand cafes of Europe, leaning on French, Viennese and Hungarian cuisines.
In this intimate masterclass (limited to 6 students) we explore some of the best photo opportunities, many of which exist only in New York City for a very short time.
We have curated this tour to alter between spectacular indoor iconic New York photo opportunities like The Metropolitain Museum of Art and The Oculus with the usual vibrant, visually rich places and neighborhoods New York is famous for. New Yorker Steve Simon will take you to these and other hidden gems.
Locations may include: Hudson Yards, Oculus, Times Square, High Line Park, Harlem, Fifth Avenue & 57 Street, Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Little Italy and the Lower East Side, Union Square, Washington Square Park, Ground Zero, Queens, Coney Island and other parts of Brooklyn and Queens.
