School Notes:

For NYC In-Person Classes:

You’ll receive a complete recipe packet and enjoy a full sit-down meal at the end of class with your classmates. Our classes are BYOB, and you are welcome to bring a bottle to enjoy at the sit-down meal (not including our baking or dessert classes).

Our classes are hands-on, coupled with demonstration-style teaching. Everyone is situated at their own cutting board/chef’s knife station around a large wooden work table that accommodates the whole class (10 people max). We work together as a group, with the chef at the head of the table.

We focus on knife skills, preparing ingredients for cooking, and we strive to find every opportunity to offer you a hands-on experience at the stove and at your station, all within the spatial parameters of a single stove/family-style kitchen. We ask for volunteers to assist in all cooking.

Refund Policy

For Public Classes:

We have a firm 3 business days cancellation policy (for credit only) to ensure that we have enough time to re-fill your seat with another student.

Please note: Boot Camps require 6 business days notice to be rescheduled.

While it is not in our nature to say no, we are simply not able to accommodate last-minute illnesses or work-related conflicts. However, you are always welcome to send someone in your place, because we understand that these things do happen. Classes are not refundable.

 For Culinary Boot Camps:

Because of the volume of Boot Camps we offer, we cannot offer make-up classes to anyone who misses a single class, no matter the reason, as it happens too often and we cannot handle that volume of make-ups.  Once you book your boot camp, make sure to mark (and prioritize) all the dates in your calendar.

Because we know how disappointing it is to miss a class, you are always welcome to send a friend in your place (just send us their name ahead of class), and perhaps insist that they cook you dinner as repayment.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

 Thank you for understanding!

I enjoyed every aspect of the class. The instructor we awesome and the food was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this class.
  • How to Cook Vegetables Properly

What a wonderful class! The chef was very informative and provided clear instructions on not only what we were doing but the why behind it. It felt serious but light, if that makes sense.

Amazing class- highly recommend. I walked away with a solid framework for how to prepare, cook, season and enhance the most common veggies. Rather than recipes, Jennifer taught us principles. I feel more confident to experiment in the kitchen and am excited to go to the farmer’s market.

This was an absolute delight! It was small and intimate and everyone immediately developed a rapport with each other. Our teacher, whose name unfortunately escapes me, was simply the best. He was funny, engaging, an expert, and didn't make anyone feel stupid for asking the most basic questions. I left with a whole new appreciation for vegetables. The meal at the end (beet salad, butternut squash purée, roasted potatoes and fennel, among other delicious vegetable concoctions) was the perfect end to a great three hours. I would absolutely do this again and recommend it to anyone with any interest in cooking veggies!
  • How to Cook Vegetables Properly

The instructor was excellent: informative interesting and had a great sense of humor. She provided valuable information on the vegetable food group and cooking techniques, not to mention some great cooking tips. It was fun to enjoy the fruits of our labor at the end of the class.

Erica was an excellent instructor and made the class fun.
  • How to Cook Vegetables Properly

Erica is the best! She makes the class fun and funny and so flowy! We had such incredibly delicious cooked vegetables. I came out with a different appreciation for cooking vegetables 5 different ways.
  • How to Cook Vegetables Properly

I attended this class as someone who does cook regularly and has made cool things very occasionally, but was not confident in my knife skills and wanted to try improving or learning new skills with someone who was able to check my work. This class was that and much more! Erica was funny, friendly, attentive (she does pay attention to how you cut, even when there's 7 of you!) and easily answered all of my questions. I'm a cheap person but I honestly felt this was worth the money and you learn so much (and you get to eat!!). And the format was very friendly-- I can see how it's a good way to meet new people. Anyway, highly recommend.

it would be a 5+-star review if we received the recipes the instructor said he would be sending. Everything was delicious, and I hadn't worked with most of the vegetables we prepared. I had a great time.
