Class Description

Description

Meditation (Dhyana) is the core practice of yoga (path to union), and its goal is purification from the effects of separation and fear—the emotional and psychological conditions called samskaras—to reveal our true nature as freedom itself.

A separate paid course will cover the following topics:

  • In this class, we will learn and experience some of the transformative practices of the esoteric yoga tradition:
  • basic awareness and breath meditation
  • pranayama (breathing methods)
  • meditation to free us of attachment and aversion (raga/dvesha)
  • self-inquiry (atma vichara)
  • consciousness and lifeforce practice (chitta/prana meditation)
  • spontaneous meditation (sahaj)
  • and more—
all of which aim to purify our body and mind of kleshas (inner obstacles), so that we can more fully experience the union of satchidananda—our real nature as truth/consciousness/joy.
