Lead Guitar Level 2: Expanding the Fretboard
Take Your Lead Playing to the Next Level
If you've got the basics of lead guitar down and are ready to unlock the full fretboard, this drop-in class is for you. In Level 2, you'll expand beyond a single pentatonic position, learning all five positions of the major and minor pentatonic scales using the CAGED system. You’ll discover how to smoothly connect these shapes, target root notes with octaves, and play with greater rhythmic variety.
You'll also refine your technique with unison bends, harmonics, 16th notes and phrasing while developing your ear to recognize major vs. minor tonal shifts. As you gain confidence, you'll start playing pentatonic scales over chord changes—including open chords—making your solos more musical and dynamic.
Expect lots of hands-on improvisation, real-life examples, and practical licks and exercises in a warm and structured environment.
By the end of this class, you’ll have the fretboard confidence and expanded vocabulary to take your soloing to the next level.
PREREQUISITES: 20+ sessions of Lead Guitar Level 1 or placement based on skill assessment.
