Class Description
Description
This course suits learners who have finished Spanish High Beginner 1 level or an equivalent program. The course covers these primary areas in High Beginner 2:
- Communication Skills: Express personal preferences and likes, recognize coincidence, locate objects spatially, describe residential spaces and furnishings, navigate everyday social situations, including invitations, introductions, salutations, farewells, and requests. Learn to solicit assistance and seek or grant permission, provide justifications and explanations.
- Grammar Focus: Comparative constructions, possessive pronoun usage, spatial prepositions, applications of ser and estar verbs, gustar, encantar, and preferir verbs, gerund formation and usage, estar plus gerund structures, and conditional tense formation.
- Vocabulary Development: Housing styles and types, house components and building materials, greeting conventions, and courtesy verbs including poder, importar, ayudar, poner, dar, dejar, and prestar.
This represents the second course in a five-part High Beginner level sequence designed for Spanish language learners.
This is an all-adult class. Course materials are not included in tuition.
Important Information:
Textbook Required: This course uses Aula Internacional 2 NE.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Cancellation policy:
- - Students who cancel more than one week prior to the class start date are entitled to a 90% refund of tuition paid.
- - Students who cancel less than one week prior to the class start date are entitled to a 80% credit towards future classes.
- - All requests for refunds and credits must be received by ISL in writing by the times listed above.
- - No credits or refunds will be provided for cancelations after one week from the class start date.
- - No refunds or credits are provided for absences.
- - No refunds or credits on books and materials.
If students miss a class:
- - Students can check if we have another class that same week at the same level and will be able to attend to make up the class.
- - Students enrolled in group classes are also entitled to one makeup private lesson at a discounted rate.
- - Makeup lessons cannot be rescheduled once finalized; no refunds are given for cancelled make-up lessons.
- - In the event of a class cancellation by ISL for any unexpected circumstances, a make-up class will be scheduled by ISL and all students will be informed.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
