Description

In this beginner-level illustrative lettering class you will learn how to hand letter your favorite quote, title, or phrase. We will begin by discussing the different moods, tones and styles in typography. We will then cover the anatomy of letters and practice drawing type. As we refine our type illustration and begin the fun process of inking our phase. In this course we will cover both the fundamentals of lettering as well experimenting on fun new ways to approach type design.

In this 2 hour introduction to illustrative lettering workshop you will learn:
  • The anatomy of letters
  • How to create a concept for an illustration
  • How to refine the typography and transfer to final material
  • Inking and painting the type illustration

Material requirements: There is a $12 supply fee due at the beginning of the workshop. We will provide all the tools and materials needed to complete the project.

Location instructions: We are located inside the "Community" shopping center with plenty of free parking. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the start of your workshop to sign-in and find your seat.

Refund Policy

We require notification of cancellation 1 week prior to scheduled date for a refund. Less than 1 week notification will receive studio credit to be applied toward a future class, and notification less than 48 hours from scheduled date will receive no credit.

Some workshops require a minimum number of registered students. If we don't meet that minimum, we will contact you at least 48 hours in advance and will offer you your choice of a full refund or studio credit.
