Level 1 Online Intro to Animation Voice Over: 3-Week V/O Class with Darren Dunstan, Casting Director, 4K Media

This virtual V/O class is perfect for someone who has always been interested in voice overs but doesn't really know where to begin.

Over the course of three weeks, you'll learn how to approach various types of voice over copy. Starting with the basics, Darren will work with you on two different kinds of animation records, ADR (recording to picture) and prelay (recording from scratch). In addition, you will have a simulated audition ONE on ONE in your last class.

You'll also learn the basics of working in a V/O booth plus lots of inside tips from someone who is constantly casting voice-overs and working with V/O actors.

Absolutely amazing! Darren does a wonderful job encouraging the entire class and has many ways to spin a scene. I learned a lot from this- especially dubbing as I hadn't gotten a chance to try it yet. The classes covered an array of different types of scripts, and he was great at matching scripts to voices as the classes continued. I'm excited to be returning in his advanced course!

I had no background in VO, and for a beginner this felt like an intermediate class. I learned a little theory from the instructor, but the one-on-one time was limited to about 5-10 minutes. Practically, I don't feel like I gained any new voices or skill, or avenues into the field. I still feel like a beginner. As far as real feedback, I don't even know if I have actual potential in the field. That being said, the instructor was friendly, open to questions, and did what the class was set up to do.
