Social media has produced a genuine career field spanning social media management, content creation, community management, and paid social, most of it sitting under marketing or public relations. This capstone-prep course focuses on what it takes to be hired into that field. The creative work centers on earned-first thinking, developing campaign ideas compelling enough that people share and cover them rather than ideas that only work when paid distribution is applied.
You develop original campaign concepts and build them into a showcase portfolio that demonstrates judgment rather than just execution. The course also covers the job search directly: optimizing your résumé, your LinkedIn presence, and your own social media as evidence of capability, plus mock interviews and personal branding. You finish with a portfolio and the materials needed to pursue social media roles.
