Reviews for More Jewelry Classes in NYC

More Jewelry Classes in NYC are rated 4.7 stars based on 998 verified reviews from actual CourseHorse.com purchasers.

  • Highly recommend this class to anyone who is interested in learning how to make jewelry. This was my first time working with metal and Carolina is so knowledgeable, kind, fun, and easy to work with. She really takes the time to teach every student and you can see how passionate she is about the art of jewelry making. You’ll learn many different techniques and walk away with a piece or two that you can wear yourself!
  • Carolina is the best! Not only is she a great instructor—- but she’s also an inspiring artist. Loved learning from her — and have some amazing pieces to cherish.
  • Lovely and thorough
  • Impossible to overstate how wonderful Carolina is. She makes the studio a warm and welcoming place for students, and her expertise is clear in every instruction she gives. I've had a wonderful time getting to know this craft, the students and Carolina, and I'll be returning for sure.
  • Carolina is absolutely amazing. I learned so much and am signing up for another 5 weeks. She’s helped me discover a new passion I know I’ll keep working on for years.
  • Great instructor and clear instructions
  • Very nice
  • Caroline is amazing — an excellent communicator and a warm person. I loved the class, and I can’t believe I made a real ring!!!!
  • Carolina's class is excellent. It was amazing how much I learned in five classes and how many pieces I was able to make in that time. I knew nothing about ring making when I started, and I left the class with four wonderful, totally handmade rings for myself and my fiance. Carolina gives plenty of instruction, but she also gives you a lot of time to experiment, to design the things you want to make, and to get familiar to the tools. For someone like me, who doesn't appreciate a lot of hand-holding in classes, it was a hugely enjoyable experience. So much of the benefit is having access to a well-equipped workspace. I look forward to signing up for more time in her studio to continue learning and making cool stuff. Highly recommend for anyone curious.
  • It was one of the most amazing experiences for me. It inspired me to continue learning the art of jewelry making, and explore more techniques of this hard, and rewarding art forms. Ms. Ayaka Nishi inspires people to bring their own ideas, and helps in getting to their goals creating their own vision of the art piece. She is also very flexible with days that a student wants to visit for the class. I want to thank Ms. Nishi for the great experience that I had, and I would definitely highly recommend this class to anyone who is either beginner or even a professional, and who wants to bring their ideas of creating their own wonderful jewelry piece.
  • Carolina is a great teacher and excellent at her craft, and also inspiring
  • These classes are individually focused and the space is well set up. She gives you the information to be able to work on your project at home, both directions and an introductory level tool list and sources.
  • This class involves one project, a lovely twisted wire ring, although if you're quicker or more skilled (I'm just kind of intermediate), you may have time for an extra piece. It was challenging, but I learned a lot and was pretty proud of what I accomplished. It will be even more exciting when the new jewelery labs at 92nd Street Y open with new equipment!
  • Carolina is a wonderful instructor. I really enjoyed taking her class!
  • LOVE CAROLINA!! Best class ever.
  • Scott is very knowledgeable and clear. I liked the introduction to wax, and I especially appreciated the way in which he encouraged me to explore different ways to achieve the design I wanted until I found a method I was comfortable with. The class can be large, and the pace is fast, so be prepared! But you can learn a lot and make something that's unquestionably your own.
  • Carolina is a creative tornado! She is fun, direct, knowledgeable, and surprisingly efficient, given the size of the class -- I'm amazed that we were able to make so many lovely things in such a short time! I'm definitely continuing to study with her.
  • I love Carolina as a teacher. She is so knowledgeable about her craft and her studio is amazing. She also does a great job of catering her teaching to each student and encourages creativity and making the piece you want to make. The only downside to this class is that sometimes she has many students and there are times where students are just waiting in line for their turn to talk to her.
  • Carolina is the absolute best! I love this class so much and I plan to take more with Carolina in the future. You will not regret taking this course :)
  • Enjoyable and very educational
  • I had an great time at the Woodsmith Knife Making Class! The instructors were super knowledgeable and made the whole process fun and easy to follow. It was so satisfying to shape, grind, and finish my own knife from scratch. They provide a break in the middle of class for lunch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a hands-on, creative experience for their partner as a gift! lol we ended being a class of all birthdays.
  • The teacher, Elizabeth, is excellent and I've learned so much from her. There are so many different enameling techniques and this class allows individuals to explore any techniques and projects they want. I would take this class again.
  • Love it. Amazing teacher.
  • We had one of the best times together as a family. The instructor was so knowledgeable and engaging and we love the rings we made! We want to go back for another class soon.
  • This is a perfect intro to metal crafting without going into metalsmithing, if you're just exploring. Two days is enough especially for us from out of town, we were able to squeeze in our tight schedule. The studio has a wide range of tools to play with and the instructor doesn't gatekeep his experience.
  • Caroline was lovely. Very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Fully recommend
  • Such a great workshop! I learned so much
  • The facilitator was very kind. The venue was a bit tricky to find, the entrance is down some stairs since it's in a basement and the doorbell isn't where the staircase is. However the workshop was really fun and and unique, and the facilitator was so nice. There was some mild waiting time due to the number of participants and the nature of the workshop. But everyone was able to have a turn water casting so it all worked out! Would love to do another workshop from liloveve.
  • Carolina is awesome. Very knowledgeable and patient to beginners. I made a few rings under her guidance but with complete creative freedom. I'd love to stay in touch with her in the future for any advice I might need as I continue to make jewelry. I'd definitely take her class again.
  • Great teacher and you actually really come out of it with a ring!
  • Caroline is a natural born teacher. She explains everything clearly, both upfront and then by demo, walks around the class to ensure we're all "getting it" and staying on time so we can finish--and she's lovely.
  • Great class. Great teacher
  • I'm brand new to jewelry making and I truly appreciated the personalized approach that Alzerina. It was a very small class in her apartment studio and she was very hands-on. She allowed us to specify the type of knowledge we wanted to learn and even encouraged us to bring broken jewelry to fix. I LOVED that part about the class b/c since most of my jewelry is the same, I'm not able to fix them myself with the right tools. Bonus - she works with you to create your own piece of jewelry in a technique of your choice and for a beginner, I absolutely loved the pair of earrings I created. I highly recommend this class and looking forward to taking it again!
  • Great class in beginning soldering. Scott is amazing.
  • The teacher was great and I learned so much at this class! I would definitely recommend it!
  • Alzerina was amazing, supportive and helped instruct us in our jewelry design. We made a bracelet and earrings. It is a more intimate environment and I would recommend this class to anyone looking to get started in jewelry design.
  • This was an excellent class! I highly recommend it for the person who wants to create a piece of jewelry or wants to think about becoming a bench jeweler.
  • Loved the class! It was so informative, educational and hands on. It’s perfect for beginners. 100% recommend!
  • Caroline was really lovely, organized and professional. I can't believe how much we learned and what we could make in just a few hours. Highly recommend.
  • unfortunately she had an emergency and had to postpone the classes, I have attended 2 classes so far and have not heard from her since. update - unfortunately her mother had passed away. She is back in the US and and she will be continuing her classes
  • It was perfect
  • Loved this class! Caroline was so patient and amazing, was able to guide us through all the steps to customize a sterling silver ring. Really appreciated her expertise and flexibility on listening to our ideas for rings and how to achieve them.
  • Great class!
  • As someone totally unfamiliar with carving or sculpting in any medium I needed more 1-on-1 explanations of many of the wax shaping tools and methods to execute my idea and Scott was very accommodating of this. I went a few times during studio hours for extra assistance and happily accepted his help in adding the sprues to my pieces for me so I could catch up and move onto the next step and he did an amazing job. My first time getting to cast was so fun! Scott's safety tips and guidance made me feel at ease. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to make their own pendants/rings/miniatures/etc out of metal.
  • This course opened my eyes to the world of jewelry making and make me want to set up a bench at home. Particularly valuable were the list of connections in the Diamond District. These new connections will reduce my material costs by half. Highly recommend this course for those who want to take their jewelry to the next level.
  • This was an amazing class - Caroline is a great teacher, who obviously loves ring making/jewelry making. She was generous with her time and attention. The class was fun, interesting, and we went home with beautiful rings!
  • Wonderful class! I’ve learned so much from Carolina, she is an excellent instructor.
  • Best class ever!!! Ms. Laber was a wonderful teacher! She taught us so much over our week together. Her dedication to all of us went above and beyond. She cares deeply about her students and her subject matter. I learned more than I even expected from the class and now feel comfortable trying to continue working on metals on my own. Can’t say enough great things about Ms. Laber and this class! Loved it so much! I would take any class with her that she offers. I would take this class again if I could.
  • These have been the best summer Saturdays I have spent in a very long time. Carolina is instantly lovable, with so much knowledge that she freely, enthusiastically gives to us. Not just about making jewelry, but the art of alchemy and the history and chemistry that threads its way through the craft. I love this class so much, and I plan to continue my relationship with her if I’m able.
  • The teacher was so knowlegeable, very patient and skills. Must taken class if one like to make jewelry. Very recommended.
