Reviews for Casting Classes in NYC

Casting Classes in NYC are rated 4.7 stars based on 63 verified reviews from actual CourseHorse.com purchasers.

  • Very nice
  • Scott is very knowledgeable and clear. I liked the introduction to wax, and I especially appreciated the way in which he encouraged me to explore different ways to achieve the design I wanted until I found a method I was comfortable with. The class can be large, and the pace is fast, so be prepared! But you can learn a lot and make something that's unquestionably your own.
  • This is a perfect intro to metal crafting without going into metalsmithing, if you're just exploring. Two days is enough especially for us from out of town, we were able to squeeze in our tight schedule. The studio has a wide range of tools to play with and the instructor doesn't gatekeep his experience.
  • The facilitator was very kind. The venue was a bit tricky to find, the entrance is down some stairs since it's in a basement and the doorbell isn't where the staircase is. However the workshop was really fun and and unique, and the facilitator was so nice. There was some mild waiting time due to the number of participants and the nature of the workshop. But everyone was able to have a turn water casting so it all worked out! Would love to do another workshop from liloveve.
  • As someone totally unfamiliar with carving or sculpting in any medium I needed more 1-on-1 explanations of many of the wax shaping tools and methods to execute my idea and Scott was very accommodating of this. I went a few times during studio hours for extra assistance and happily accepted his help in adding the sprues to my pieces for me so I could catch up and move onto the next step and he did an amazing job. My first time getting to cast was so fun! Scott's safety tips and guidance made me feel at ease. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to make their own pendants/rings/miniatures/etc out of metal.
  • I really wanted to get into jewelry making and found the class Bushwick Jewelry Casting. Absolutely amazing! It taught me a lot about lost wax casting and what goes into making jewelry. Really glad I took it and love Scott the instructor!
  • Scott is an excellent teacher! I gained a great understanding of the wax casting process and got hands-on experience every step of the way. I came out of the class with cast silver jewelry (which I love). Would recommend to all.
  • Marc Fields knowledge is encyclopedic - and his ability to explain it impressive. The two hours I spent with Mr. Fields felt like an intellectual wind tunnel -- exactly what one wants from an introductory course.e
  • Scott is a great instructor -super knowledgeable and very fun. I will definitely be back in the Studio in the future!
  • Cuttlefish Ring Casting

    Fantastic teachers!!
  • A lot of information. Well organized. Exactly as billed- an introduction lecture.
  • Scott is so knowledgeable and patient; I can't wait to become a member! The piece that he helped me make is beyond my imagination; I am so pleased. Thank you, Scott :)
  • This casting class was great for my first experience of working with silver...I made an amazing piece that Scott carefully and thoughtfully guided me through. The class was full, but Scott is a professional metal smith and adeptly handled the students, the tools and materials for the final casting.
  • Loved it !! Exactly what I expected..
  • This was a wonderful class. The instructor is great and helps as much as you need it. The other students were very interesting and encouraging, too. I'm looking forward to taking another one of Scott's classes. I'm hooked.
  • Scott is very down to earth with a great sense of humor. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Though the class moves quickly, Scott provides one-to-one support and guidance. I thoroughly enjoyed the class, learning to use different equipments and honing my creativity. Well worth the price and I will definitely take this class again.
  • Love the class!!!
  • Great course and instructor. Learned a lot and had an opportunity to explore various tools and methods.
  • Great class. Scott knows his stuff and has a lot of patience when it comes to helping/ teaching others. Highly recommend.
  • He is a good man and I am hoping to take more classes with him.
  • Mold Making

The class started a little slow but by the end I had learned so much and all stuff I could do on my own. Excellent use of three hours. Teacher was also encouraging and enthusiastic and it was fun to see and learn from what classmates had done!
  • Mold Making

    Loved it!
  • Mold Making

We covered a wide range of materials and methods of mold making. Nikki is very knowledgeable and full of great information and tips.
  • Scott is very knowledgeable in the art of jewelry making and shares his expertise. I took the two day boot camp on wax casting and I learned alot. The class is good for both beginners in wax casting and for anyone wanting to be hands on in the casting process.
  • Salt casting was a great class! Kate is a great teacher, and I appreciated the fact that it was a small class, and Kate was able to provide plenty of individual attention. I've only had a little bit of experience with metal and torch work, but I found the pace comfortable, and I think we were all able to complete two pieces in the 6-hour class. I'll definitely look for more classes at this location.
  • This was a fantastic course! The wax casting process itself is fascinating. Scott was very knowledgeable and super patient the whole way. He guided us through lots of different techniques, materials and tools so we really had free reign to create anything we wanted.
  • This class was absolutely awesome. Scott is such a great teacher, super knowledgable about all aspects of jewelry making. And such a funny, sweet guy! He was really accommodating when my schedule got crazy and I couldn't come in and finish my piece. Can't wait to take another class.
